Mission: To advocate for Michigan's water resources, reviewing and analyzing policies, rules, regulations, and legislation pertaining to water environment matters; developing MWEA’s position on water environment issues for BOD approval/adoption, and for public presentation via seminars and written communications; and providing a united voice for MWEA’s members. Water For People helps people in developing countries improve their quality of life by supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities and health and hygiene education programs. Chair: Lorene Bruns, Duperon
This committee is one of MWEA’s newest committees and is charged with administering several initiatives that are part of a multi-year grant received from EGLE. Items the Committee is responsible for include: administering the PUMP Award, hosting the Effective Utility Management Workshops, organizing and hosting the WRRF Academy learning series, as well as planning and hosting a recruitment and retention seminar. Teleconference meetings occur once or twice a quarter; come join this exciting and growing committee. Chair: Heather Chelsek
Mission: To provide leadership on Watershed Management and Stormwater policy, practice and education focusing on both rural and urban watershed issues and stormwater infrastructure in urban areas. Goals: Educating our members and encouraging member participation in local Watershed Management projects. Push for dedicated funding options for municipal stormwater assets in Michigan.
